1. Determine Eligibility
- Individuals: All Malaysian residents, permanent residents, and expatriates earning an income in Malaysia are required to register for an Income Tax Number.
- Companies: All businesses operating in Malaysia, including sole proprietorships, partnerships, and companies, must register.
2. Gather Required Documents
For individuals:
- Malaysian Citizens:
- A copy of your MyKad (National Identity Card).
- Foreigners:
- A copy of your passport.
- A copy of your employment contract or a letter from your employer confirming your employment.
- Proof of Residence (e.g., utility bills, tenancy agreement).
- Employer’s Tax Number (for salaried employees).
For companies:
- Certificate of Incorporation (Form 9 or equivalent).
- Company’s Business Registration Number.

3. Register Online or In-Person
For Individuals:
- Online Registration:
- Visit the official LHDN website and navigate to the “ezHASiL” portal.
- Select “Daftar Pembayar Cukai Individu” (Individual Taxpayer Registration).
- Fill out the required online form with your personal details.
- Attach scanned copies of the required documents.
- Submit the application online.
- In-Person Registration:
- Visit the nearest LHDN branch.
- Complete the physical registration form (Form CP600B).
- Submit the form along with the required documents to the LHDN officer.

4. Receive Your Tax Identification Number (TIN)

5. Activate Your Online Account (ezHASiL)
